Coach Matt Rhule said Monday that Newton will handle most of the No. 1 practice reps heading into Week 11's matchup against Washington, Jonathan M. Alexander of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Newton (undisclosed) will need to remain away from Patriots facilities until Thursday due to a misunderstanding of the NFL's procedures for COVID-19, Michael Giardi of NFL Network reports.
